  16. disclaimer:  i'm not on the arisia concom this year.  i don't speak
  17. for etc. etc.

  19. in spite of persistant rumors, arisia has yet to sell out a convention
  20. completely.  this might have something to do with a recession.
  21. anyway, i would suggest until further notice disregarding any
  22. indications that arisia might sell out.  obviously preregistering is
  23. less expensive and more certain for you and better for the concom, but
  24. it appears that arisia paid attendance will be around 1200 this year.
  25. furthermore, preregistration closes 6 weeks before the con.  if you
  26. send them money, you should send them the at door price anyway.

  28. basis of this projection:  i ran registration this year.  arisia's
  29. percentage of prereg to walk-in is about 60-40.  last prereg numbers
  30. were 800.  note that non-paid members aren't included in the 1500
  31. count either.
