- What I never told
-
- What I never told
- anyone
- is
- during the war
- in the plane
- dropping the bombs
- I enjoyed it
- relished in the knowledge
- of the screams
- of the torment
- of the enemy
- of the enduring pain of those less fortunate than the dead
- I never told until now
- when killing is generally accepted
- in our lives
- in our country
- as a central value
- now that it is accepted that inflicting pain and murdering
- is a sin preferable to the enjoyment of pleasure
- about which we do not speak to our children
- lest they bring us discomfort
- and unwanted babies
- I now feel an outcast no longer
- I have come home.
