- Solstice Love Options: Winter '92
-
-
- On the day that I was told that
- Easter Eggs weren't Christian Things,
- I ate my yolks and paused to wonder
- 'bout the source of onion rings.
-
- On the day that I discovered
- how the May Pole got it's shape,
- I worried about the ribbons,
- then I worried about rape.
-
- On the day that I found out
- from where the Yule Log got its name,
- I wondered which traditions were
- ones I could truly claim.
-
- Still don't care where the Eggs come from,
- though when is still moon-driven.
- And my pole, you know, it only goes
- in places where consent is given.
-
- The tree I decorate each year?
- It's living is the yard.
- And I live by this tradition:
- try not to think too hard.
