  12. Just a little poem expressing my thoughts this "Holiday Season".

  17. presents wrapped under the tree
  18. stockings filled
  19. baking done
  20. turkey thawing
  21. cookies eaten
  22. a full day of cooking ahead
  23. and I exhausted
  24. take a moment to pause
  25. consider
  26. what does it all mean
  27.  
  28. I have no religious convictions
  29. I am not interested in the trappings of wealth
  30. have not succumbed to yuppiedom
  31. and yet
  32. I decorate my house with lights
  33. a tree stands in my livingroom
  34. spent endless hours
  35. list in hand
  36. purchasing just the right gift
  37. knowing I will hear squeals of delight
  38. in the morning
  39.  
  40. why do I involve myself
  41. in this capitalistic overindulgent display
  42. I find I have enjoyed myself
  43. instead of money spent on necessities
  44. mundanities of survival
  45. I have had a choice
  46. bought items for fun not because I must
  47. chosen items to bring pleasure
  48. a break from the humdrum routine
  49. my jubilant cry of defiance
  50. at mere existence.
