  15. American slang c.1930 ...  skank* (also skag, scag) n. a homely
  16.                            girl or woman. During the first world war
  17.                            skag was used for "cigarette butt" by
  18.                            the American soldiers. By the early sixties
  19.                            skag/skank was used by American teens as
  20.                            "someone or something foolish or insignificant."
  21.                            Also, skag was/is used for "heroin" in the
  22.                            drug subculture.
