Here are a few poems I've written over the past year or so...

WARNING:  CONTAINS SEVERELY MUSHY STUFF! :)

I sit and stare out the window
  hoping the sun will shine soon
Remnants of a spring rain trickle down the glass
  like the tears slipping down my face

I see the image of your face
  in the misty morning dew
Smiling that sweet, warm smile
  will you smile that smile for me?

Your eyes the colour of the bluest skies
  your touch as gentle as a soft summer breeze
Your words, so tender and caring
  will you speak those words to me?

With you, my world begins and ends
  I feel happiness blossoming inside me
Like the newness and freshness of spring
  after a long, harsh winter of sorrow

Your laughter is the most beautiful of music
  your presence, calming and protective
Tranquil and secure, I walk by your side
  hoping beyond hope that you'll see me there

You're forever in my soul
  wrapped warm in my heart

Call to me in the night
  with love, with need
I'll be there to hold you
  And dawn will come again

Take me in your arms
  with love, with tenderness
Our spirits entwined
  in dreams and beyond

Care for me
  with love, with passion
If we open our hearts
  We'll mend each other's scars

Hold me forever
  with love, with caring
The light of my love for you
  will pierce every darkness

  when it all began
How could something feel so right
  but be wrong?

My heart feels like bursting
  it aches to be yours
Hoping there will come a time
  that you will be mine

I need you like never before
  to love you, to please you
Your smile and touch warm me
  beyond words, beyond time

I love the way you love me
 with your eyes and your touch
Your tender words embrace me
 keeping me safe and warm

I never have to hide my feelings
 you know me so very well
Your thoughts are as my thoughts
 with you, I have no doubts

When I'm frightened or worried
 you hold me close and reassure me
You bring out the very best in me
 my life is bleak without you

The time we spend together
 is like a soothing rain after a drought
You wash away my pain and my sorrow
 and fill my heart and soul with love

Rain slides down the window pane
  like the tears running down my face
The sky is a murky grey
  like the cloud shrouding my heart

So many things are uncertain
  I feel scared and alone inside
I just want something I can grasp onto
  That won't leave me stranded

Is it wrong to desire happiness
  to share a deep, true love?
Little things make me smile and laugh
  is kindness such a difficult thing to give?

It's said that 'love conquers all'
  that 'all' is a very large obstacle
Attempting to conquer it is hard enough
  but infinitely more difficult when done alone

How I want the sun to shine again
  and a smile to curve my lips
How I want a warm breeze to blow again
  and a song to sing in my heart

Can you spare a little gladness
  from within your heart to mine?
Can you brush the tears from my face
  and show me that someone cares?

  you soothe my hurts
  you tolerate my varying moods
I need you in my life
  you make my world a happier place
  you share my good times
  you hold me tight in my bad times
I love you in my life
  you make the sun seem brighter
  you chase away the dark clouds
  you make me feel secure

I feel like I'm wandering, lost
  in a dark forest
    in a parched desert
      in a violent storm
        in a dizzying whirpool

I let go of your hand
  now you're lost to me
    drifting further away
      just a speck on the horizon
        the warmth and love just a memory

I wish I could turn back time
  right all the wrongs
    be all that you want me to be
      be all that I want to be
        be everything for you

I feel stranded, alone
  nowhere to turn
    no one to hold me
      no one to warm my heart
        no one to share things with

I am no longer whole
  my heart is empty
    my spirit is broken
      my mind is confused
        my soul aches over the loss of you

I want you beside me
  and live
    and be happy
      and be loved
        and give love

I have fond memories
  of good times shared
    of quiet times shared
      of problems worked through
        of loving you
