- A local movie house which used to show $1 movies and serve beer to your
- table--it was a good place to see Wayne's World--has decided to change its
- image. They got rid of the tables and the beer, installed conventional (but
- rather comfy) theater seats, jacked up the ticket price and started showing
- foreign* films, a rare treat in this town. For openers they showed Waterland
- and The Best Intentions. We met the manager and found out he knows nothing
- about foreign films and is open to suggestions. Anybody got any? I'm
- specifically interested in new films. For starters, can somebody tell me the
- name of the latest film by Jhang Yimou, the director of Raise the Red Lantern?
-
- *Foreign to the US, that is.
