  12. A local movie house which used to show $1 movies and serve beer to your
  13. table--it was a good place to see Wayne's World--has decided to change its
  14. image. They got rid of the tables and the beer, installed conventional (but
  15. rather comfy) theater seats, jacked up the ticket price and started showing
  16. foreign* films, a rare treat in this town.  For openers they showed Waterland
  17. and The Best Intentions.   We met the manager and found out he knows nothing
  18. about foreign films and is open to suggestions.  Anybody got any?  I'm
  19. specifically interested in new films.  For starters, can somebody tell me the
  20. name of the latest film by Jhang Yimou, the director of Raise the Red Lantern?
