- Blockbuster bought a couple of major music chains a few weeks ago,
- including Sound Warehouse (which is probably the one you mention in
- Houston). I suspect they're doing this as a buffer against pay-per-view.
- PPV is hitting video stores pretty hard in some markets, especially
- lots-of-new-releases-but-no-weird-stuff stores like Blockbuster.
-
- I hadn't heard that they were shutting down the video sections of those
- stores, though it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. Up to now,
- the local Sound Warehouse has had a pretty decent selection of stuff
- you're not likely to find at Blockbuster, and as you say, they rent it for
- a lot cheaper.
-
- I shudder to think what's going to happen to the music selection once
- Blockbuster's prigs give it a going-over.
