-
- I'm not so sure that they are in costume. They *are* clowns.

- Shakes is (IMO, of course) one of the best films ever, but whoever
- packaged the video should be crushed by a falling piano. The video
- cover makes it look like another John Candy feel good bring the kids
- flick. This will drive away those who would really like it (Pax, are
- you listening) and *really* offend those who rent it as such and take
- it home to the family.

-
- Not a bad idea.

- Goldwaith described it as The last temptation of Bozo.

-
- It's important to note that none of the humor is crude just to be
- crude. We're not talking Porkys here, just the bottomed out life of
- an alchoholic.

- >makeup. But with all of his drinking and womanizing,

-
- This isn't a film about clowns. It's about alchoholism but done
- without most of the usual preaching. At least what preaching there
- is comes across better knowing that Goldwaith is speaking to himself.

- Good review. I hope I didn't come off as flaming your post, I wasn't.
- I just took this film to heart I guess. By the way, this movie has
- one of the all time classic lines in it. Picture a clown in full
- makeup throwing an obnoxious father up against a wall and telling
- him "You so much as talk to me and I'll twist your head into a fucking
- balloon animal".
