  11. If you really want to know how much money is returned to the film company you
  12. have to read Variety. I know in the annuals they print the movie RENTALS-These
  13. are the funds that the movie compnay gets back(The gross minus whatever the
  14. theaters take). The rentals figures are usually 20-40% less of the grosses.
  15. Then you have to take into account waht the move cost to make plus promotion.
  16. If you look at the grosses one really wonders how Movie companies make money!
  17. You can tell they take alo of hits espcially on the bigger budgeted movies that
  18. need to make 100 million + domesticly to be profitable.
