- I can't believe that everyone seems to have forgotten Rebecca De Mornay in
- "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle". At last year's Oscars there was a lot of
- talk about how amazing it was that "Silence of the Lambs" could have been
- honoured so long after it was released; it is a shame that such memory skills
- are not apparent this year. As good as Thompson was, I think De Mornay gave
- THE performance of 1992. Of course she is disadvantaged not only by the
- time factor but because "Hand" was "only" a thriller, and one that fell a
- little flat toward the end. But hell, if it was good enough for Kathy Bates -
- and "Hand" was certainly a better film than "Misery" - why can't it be good
- enough for De Mornay. Politics I suppose...
