- Rather disappointed with that film. Lots of fine aspects and performances,
- but left me feeling as though it was a bit too self-indulgent and curiously
- unsatisfying. Nothing compared to Brazil, which I do consider great.
- Not just well-done, but entertaining as well.

- I lost a bit of the timeline on this post. This conclusion is
- as of when? I was of the impression that it was a dead project as
- well, but I didn't know when the decision was made. I'd assumed as
- of around '88/'89.
-
- And, BTW, contrary to popular opinion, while I do think the book was
- much better, I was very satsified with the script as a vehicle to make
- an entertaining and solid movie. I've come to expect much of the detail
- of books to be lost on film, and when not, what's included often is
- not well-suited to film, and bungled.
