- "Brain Donors" is essentially a remake of "A Night at the Opera", with
- some slight adjustments to the Marx Brothers' personas and a wee bit of
- updating. John Turturro does a fairly brilliant reinvention of Groucho
- Marx without doing a Groucho impersonation. The other two comedians are
- less effective.

- I personally liked this film a lot. I'm in the minority, however. One
- can argue that the world really didn't need a remake of "A Night At the
- Opera", but did the world really need a spoof of airplane disaster movies,
- either? There's a certain boldness to the idea, and, while it doesn't
- work all the time, it's a decent attempt to reinvigorate a style of comedy
- that just doesn't exist any more. Many other people, on the other hand,
- feel it's just a bad idea executed with none of the energy and elan of
- the original.
