  12. I think John Peel might have beat you to that theory in the Gallifrey
  13. Chronicles.  How about this for an alternate:  the TARDIS operates on
  14. artron energy (the energy produced by the mind, BTW, in Doctor Who),
  15. which is beamed from Gallifrey via the Eye of Harmony.  Perhaps the
  16. TARDIS, in its symbiotic attachment to the Doctor (and, to a lesser
  17. extent, its other passangers), saps the sex drive?  This might by why,
  18. when they do fall in love, companions are almost instantly enarmoured
  19. and ready to get married.  A lot of pent-up stuff.
