- Considering that the FIRST Doctor is the only one ever to have
- shown any evidence of sexual activity or interest (he had a
- granddaughter, so presumably had a wife or consort and child
- at some time, and there was that mild "relationship" with the
- Aztec lady) I have a theory that perhaps Time Lords are sexual
- beings, capable of reproducing, only in their first incarnation.
- When they regenerate they become asexual.
-
- (Actually of course the Doctor's disinterest in sex or romance
- is just a convention of the show, originating with its start
- as a kids' program... the saying in the production office for
- years was "There's no hanky-panky in the TARDIS!" On the
- other hand, many fanzine writers have eagerly stepped in to
- make up for the lack of sex in the televised episodes,
- establishing torrid and explicit relationships between
- the Doctors (especially the Fourth) and their companions
- (esp. Sarah).
