  12. Considering that the FIRST Doctor is the only one ever to have
  13. shown any evidence of sexual activity or interest (he had a
  14. granddaughter, so presumably had a wife or consort and child
  15. at some time, and there was that mild "relationship" with the 
  16. Aztec lady) I have a theory that perhaps Time Lords are sexual
  17. beings, capable of reproducing, only in their first incarnation.
  18. When they regenerate they become asexual.

  20. (Actually of course the Doctor's disinterest in sex or romance
  21. is just a convention of the show, originating with its start
  22. as a kids' program... the saying in the production office for
  23. years was "There's no hanky-panky in the TARDIS!"  On the
  24. other hand, many fanzine writers have eagerly stepped in to
  25. make up for the lack of sex in the televised episodes,
  26. establishing torrid and explicit relationships between
  27. the Doctors (especially the Fourth) and their companions
  28. (esp. Sarah).
