  12. A Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy New Year no matter what year you
  13. are travelling to.  :)

  15. And in the spirit of the holidays, my ActorWatch turned up two "Who" actors
  16. in a Christmas "special" being shown tonight, Christmas Eve on CBS.

  18. The special is "A Christmas Carol" starring George C. Scott and I recognized
  19. two people from "Who" in it.

  21. One was a very small part played by Michael Gough (the Toymaker, Councillor
  22. Hedin in "Arc of Infinity", Alfred in the "Batman" movies), the part being
  23. that of some older gentleman Scrooge runs into in the street and wishes a
  24. Merry Christmas after he's been sorted out by the spirits the previous night.

  26. The other was much more significant.  Mark Strickson (Turlough) as the 
  27. young Scrooge that the Spirit of Christmas Past shows the present Scrooge
  28. to prove to him that he once knew how to have fun.  Very good job he does
  29. too.  The copyright date of this film is 1984 so it's right around the
  30. time Mark was leaving "Who," and it almost shows in a way as he seems to
  31. play his Scrooge a little like Turlough.  The part calls for it too as
  32. Scrooge needs to be "shifty" in these scenes with the girlfriend he lets
  33. get away.
  34. This solves one mystery.  Now we know why Scrooge was the way he was; he made
  35. a deal with the Black Guardian, and those spirits he saw were really him
  36. tormenting Turlough.  :)
