  11. We've stayed at the Polynesian, the Floridian, the Dolphin, and 
  12. the Beach Club in various trips to WDW.  When our daughter was young
  13. (mostly MK age til about 9) our favorite was the Polynesian, which
  14. had all the advantages you listed.  She loved the swimming and convienence
  15. to MK made it great.

  17. We stayed at the floridian once when the Polynesian was booked.  And
  18. you speak of snooty - at the time they lent you nice terrycloth robes
  19. with your room so you wouldn't feel the need to parade around in 
  20. beach atire!

  22. THen as a family we became EPCOT/MGM oriented so we stayed at the Dolphin.
  23. Too big, too ugly, to business oriented.  Its a conference center which
  24. happens to be in central florida next to EPCOT.

  26. Our last 3 trips have been to Beach club.  Yes it is a bit more
  27. formal than Polynesian.  I think this is for two reasons 1) they
  28. do run conferences out of them and 2) since it is next to epcot
  29. the clientele is a bit older.  I was pretty aghast when I went out
  30. to the pool and saw these people on the terrace in back in suits
  31. talking on cellular phones but I figured out that is their problem.

  33. I guess my only suggestion is remember that wherever you go it is still
  34. Disney.  The only place I know which has a dress code in a hotel
  35. is Victoria and Alberts.  We spent the better part of the day lamenting
  36. about how awful it would be to be dressed in a suit and tie in a meeting
  37. room talking about sales projections when everyone else was in a
  38. bathing suit splashing away.  You should consider it your duty to make
  39. them feel bad with your informalness.
