- I tend to agree. The really nice thing about the TPB for Harbinger was
- that even though I bought the original books for interest sake, and
- wasn't terribly thrilled with them, the fact that someone was willing to
- pay me $135 for them _and_ give me a TPB with the same content as the
- originals I was selling had a certain appeal....
-
- CW>Therefore, bring on the TPB. The primary comics is to be read and
- CW>enjoyed. If TPB's help do that, great. If they upset a few speculators,
- CW>I'm not to concerned.

- Agreed. My collection is pretty large (although that's a relative term
- on r.a.c), and easily worth several thousand dollars. But I really
- couldn't care less (other than on insurance forms) because they were
- bought to be read and enjoyed, not as investments. That's why I applaud
- the introduction of such things as the Marvel Masterworks and the DC
- Archives; although expensive, they allow new readers to enjoy books that
- were previously unattainable.
-
- CW>The thing that DOES bother me about the TPB's is that they will probably
- CW>use the same trick that they used with the Harbinger (sp. correctly
- CW>jcowling), that being that they will include a special #0 issue meaning
- CW>that you will probably have to buy the damn thing to be able to read the
- CW>entire story.
-
- Yes, but that's the fault of these #0 issues and trading card scams; it
- is not an inherant problem with TPBs. If the series doesn't start off
- with such gimmicks, then there is no problem.
