- I thought this was a pretty interesting summary. It was neat to read
- all the various comments. I know some people are getting sick of this
- discussion, but it tripped a couple of circuits in my head, re: people
- I hadn't mentioned before.

- I like Art Adams, but reading this reminded me of Michael Golden, who I
- also forgot to mention (among all my other artists who only I mentioned).
- Michael Golden pioneered the style that Todd McFarlane, Art Adams and
- the whole legion of current "hot" artists use nowadays. I remember
- looking at drawings of Mary Jane Watson-Parker drawn by McFarlane, and
- then looking at some shots of Spider-Woman Golden did for Avengers Annual
- #8 or whichever one he did. The similarity is quite striking, needless
- to say. These guys have moved away from their Michael Golden ripoff
- phases for the most part now -- but ask any of them, and I'll guarantee
- you they know Golden's name. I hear tell Michael has problems with his
- hands now that make it difficult for him to draw for long periods, but
- he still manages to do something special every now and again. For
- instance, the first story in the Marvel Holiday Special that came out a
- few weeks ago has Michael Golden art, and it still looks very
- impressive.

- I should have mentioned him as well. He has a very nice style, when he
- wants to. I saw a poster he did of the Scarlet Witch from Marvel
- Comics, and it looked superb. But was I the only one who was very
- disappointed by ROBIN 3000?
-
- And, of course, there were a lot of artists mentioned that I like/am
- impredded by/respect a great deal -- I tried just to list my very
- favorites, though... people who I would actually be excited if a new
- book by them showed up in the store.
