- Just finished the tenth of Ransome's twelve volumes of novels. Difficult
- to imagine a better-rounded role model for kids than the title character:
-
- (1) A 22-gong Taicoon (more or less equivalent
- among Chinese pirate-cum-warlords to a Capo
- di Tutti Capi).
-
- (2) A Latin scholar at Cambridge
-
- (3) Cox'd the Second Newnham boat.
-
- *Missee Lee*, like *Peter Duck*, is one of the "imaginary" stories.
