  11. I have just finished Eve's Tattoo, the most recent book by Prager. A Vintage
  12. Contemporary published by Random House (pp US 10$). This is the first book by
  13. this author I've read...brilliant.

  15. Eve is just turning 40 and 'celebrates' her birthday by getting the number of
  16. a Death Camp victim tattooed onto her arm (#500123). She does this as a
  17. memorial statement to the women whose picture she has come into contact with.
  18. Eve dubs this woman Eva and winds up telling friends and strangers varying
  19. stories about who "Eva" was and how she spent the war. Note: Eve is not crazy
  20. and although her act is totally outrageous the story is a compassionate look
  21. at 'modern' people looking back at the war. Compelling as hell.

  23. Prager has also written   A visit to the Footbinder and  Clea and Zeus
  24. Divorce as well as WW2 Resistance stories (which, I believe, would be
  25. nonfiction.
