  12. I have just finished the last of George Macdonald Fraser's "Flashman" series,
  13. and I am in a funk because I don't have anything else to read. Does anyone have
  14. a recommendation?

  16. What I liked about the Flashman books: humor, history, slight cynicism.
  17.  
  18. What I like in general: historical novels where I really learn some history
  19. (i.e. not just a potboiler set in the past); humor; believable characters;
  20. things off the beaten path.

  22. I don't usually read this group, so I would be very obliged if you would e-mail
  23. me. I can post a summary if anyone is interested.
