- Don't do it yourself, have it done professionally, for aesthetic
- reasons mainly.
-
- Consider having the piercer use a 12 gauge needle. The person
- who did my piercing had a hell of time forcing the 14 gauge ring
- through the 14 gauge hole--I won't even elaborate on the pain
- that put me through! My friend had his done immediately after me
- and insisted she use a 12 gauge, his piercing went much better.
-
- Consider using a niobium ring. I've found that my skin likes it
- better than stainless steel.

- >Which vitamin supplements enhance tissue regeneration?
-
- Eat a healthy, well-balanced selection of foods and you should
- heal quickly and without problems. Things that speed the healing
- process often have side-effects like scar tissue.
-
- Trust in your body's ability to heal itself. Keep it clean, well
- nourished and don't interfere.
-
- >Do those with recently pierced nipples find them too tender to sleep on?
-
- The first three nights were difficult. Pain wasn't really the
- problem, it was just the fear that I'd rip the ring out in the
- middle of the night. I taped it down for a few nights but gave
- up on that because my skin didn't like the adhesive in the tape.
-
- >Have the piercings significantly interfered with anyone's daily activities?
-
- If you get your right nipple pierced, driving with a seat belt on
- can be a whole new adventure in sensation. :-)
-
- >How long, generally, do they take to heal?
-
- That depends on how well you eat and take care of the piercing.
- And, just because the piercing feels good doesn't mean it's
- totally healed. I wouldn't plan on any serious play for at
- least four months.
-
- >Has anyone found Hibiclens to be too harsh? What other surgical
- >scrubs work well with piercings?
-
- Use soap and warm water twice a day. Keep everything away from
- it, especially mouths. Use the warm water to clean the crusty
- bits away then coat the ring with soap and slide it back and
- forth through the piercing. Repeat the process with clean water.
