- Funny, but I realized that one tattoo artist wasn't for me
- when I started looking at all the strange nightmares I had
- about his work. The first one was right after I got my dagger
- done, and I had this strange dream about how he had put his
- own energy into it, and was intending to use it as a ritual
- tie to me, and I had the task of fighting the power in the tat
- and making it MINE, so that not only he couldn't control me through
- it, but it was MY OWN power design.
-
- Since then I have had several nightmares about this same tat
- artist. Some involve his head trips, just sort of an extreme
- replaying of his mutters about "This will show my brother I'm as
- good as he is!" and "This is going to be one of my prize
- pieces. This will be the tat that makes my reputation!"
- Where I'm just the canvas for his demented aspirations to
- greatness.
-
- The really *weird* nightmares were about how he was dedicating
- the pain to some strange ritual that was kind of vaguely
- related to sex magic, except pain magic, and using it to build
- his personal power. After those started, I decided not to go
- back to the guy. Obviously, he and I don't have compatible
- world views, and my subconcious is telling me something.
-
- On the other hand, I've had some really great dreams about
- getting tats from an artist I like, and some great dreams
- about getting tats from artists I've never met. Those are
- very pleasant. It was only this one guy who gave me
- nightmares.
