  19. Well, I'll add my article to the slew that will undoubtedly follow.

  21. CCA isn't my favorite piece of Gundam anime, that would be 0080.  But CCA
  22. is definitely way up there on my list.  It was actually the first Gundam
  23. I ever saw, which may have something to do with it, but I can also give
  24. specific reasons.

  26. -- The animation is probably the best of any Gundam feature yet produced.
  27. The battle scenes are "kick-ass", for lack of a better phrase.  I especially
  28. like the tricks the Nu Gundam is able to do with the "funnels" it launches
  29. from its back.

  31. -- I like the soundtrack.  Can't really get to specific as too why; I just
  32. thought it was well-done.

  34. -- As for the story: I have to give the writer credit for having the guts
  35. to create a completely unsympathetic character.  Quess is a spoiled,
  36. annoying, little shit and she's supposed to be that way.  In a very real
  37. sense, she's more the villain that Char is, even moreso since the viewer
  38. seems to be the only one who can tell what she really is.  Char uses the
  39. girl like a tool, all while she believes she's using him.
  40.     I also like CCA because it explores the characters of Char and Amuro
  41. and brings their struggle to a dramatic conclusion.  The story ended the
  42. only way it could end, in mutual death.  (Sorry, Sea Wasp. :-) )

  44. CCA does have its flaws.  Tomino's socio-babble gets a little pompous from
  45. time to time.  Amuro and Char arguing sociology and politics as they fight
  46. to the death seemed a little odd the first time I watched it.  Since the
  47. mobile suits seem to be of all shapes, sizes, and colors, it's hard to tell
  48. which side is which in some of the battle scenes.  When Char's rival for
  49. Quess' affections is blown up, the event happens so suddenly that I often
  50. miss it and have to rewind the tape.

  52. Still, like I said, this movie is definitely one of my favorites.
