  17. they got about 1/2 way through the Manga series.  Speculation on the Fido-Net
  18. Anime echo is that the series, which did not die from lack of public
  19. interest...  Was canceled because of the "preferences" of Akane for Madoka. 
  20. They say that, oddly enough, the TV series ended just before the appearance of
  21. Akane.  And THAT does sadden me because I LOVE that series.
