  19.     Some more comments on the Streamline deal AFTER watching the original
  20. Castle of Cagliostro:

  22.     1)  Gaver is right, the voice isn't the same.
  23.     2)  Streamline has quite an annoying tendancy to change dialog
  24.         around for no apparent reason.  They also have a tendancy to
  25.         DELETE dialog at times.  (examples to follow:)

  27.         a)  The Cagliostro boys are chasing the princess in the
  28.             beginning part of the movie and Jiken tries to shoot
  29.             their cars' tires.  His REAL reaction: "That's no
  30.             ordinary car!".  Macek-ized reaction: "That cars got
  31.             bullet proof tires!"
  32.         b)  Jiken loses in the Jyan-ken-po game and has to fix
  33.             the flat tire.  His REAL reaction while walking is
  34.             "the spare is bald".  I don't think I remember him
  35.             saying anything in the Macek'erd version.

  37.        I know see the stupidy of Macek.  I have seen the light.  He
  38.        changes dialog for NO REASON.  It does nothing more than
  39.        irritate those who have seen the original!  The implications
  40.        are the same, but still..

  49.     Gaver-sensei..  I agree that the voice was quite different, but
  50. I still think it was a good "adaptation" of Lupin's voice.  I don't
  51. expect companies to go chasing around the world for a perfect Lupin III
  52. voice match.  I say it was "good enough".

  54.     Despite the stupidity of Streamline, I still say it was a well
  55. done dubbing job.  I'll buy the LD (if it's under $40 and if it comes out).
