- Summary: should I use penguin 660's or 1140's on my 30 gal tank?
- Keywords: rugf, penguin, undergravel, filtration
-
- I'm converting my 30 gal (tall) marine tank from a UGF + Aquaclear 200
- + protine skimmer to a RUGF + a magnum 402 for surface agitation +
- a piccolo protine skimmer system.
-
- I have two lift tubes, and I believe the surface area at the bottom of
- the tank is equivelant to a 20L (30"X12"). I'm about to place the
- order for two reverse-flow power heads, and I am contemplating two
- Penguin 660R's (175gph) or two Penguin 1140 (300gph) powerheads.
-
- I believe that the 660's should be more than adequate, and I'm
- concerned that if I bought the 1140's, the noise and current flow, and
- back pressure would be obnoxious (I have visions of coral levitating).
