- Sheesh! What does everybody have against iodine? Iodine is a required nutrient
- for fish as well as humans (that's why they put it in table salt). Most areas
- of the country have appreciable levels of iodine in their tap water. The one
- exception I know of is here in the extreme northeast where glacial activity
- mixed things up a bit. This would include New England, New York state(including
- Long Island which wa sformed by a glacier), and Northern Pennsylvania. This
- would probably include the northern reaches of the midwest but I'm not that
- familiar with these areas. The point is that if your tap water doesn't contain
- any iodine you might well consider adding a touch of iodized salt to your tank.
