- Just about any freshwater fish can tolerate a teaspoon of salt per gallon,
- I really doubt that the amount of salt you're adding equates to that
- (assuming you drain the water from the beans).

- If you're worried, I guess letting them soak a little in a bowl of tap
- water will dilute the salt content of the beans.
