- My wife recently got a small everything-in-one type of tank
- for work. It's maybe two gallons large.
-
- Being ignorant prior to discovering this group, we just filled
- it up with water from her tank at work (Calistoga, I think :-))
- and then got a black red-tailed shark.
-
- The shark has been fine for a few weeks now, and she'd like
- to get another one - she's eyeing a white red-tailed shark.
-
- Any suggestions for a 2nd or 3rd fish, or advice against
- getting any more? How about using bottled drinking water for
- the tank - is that ok? We also got the standard fish flakes,
- and some dried bloodworms, but the shark seems to prefer poking
- around in the gravel to coming up for food - is this normal?
-
- I've been perusing the FAQ and am pretty amazed that the
- fish is still alive after hearing about all the
- things we didn't do that we should have.
-
- I've convinced my wife to do water changes, and we'll get
- some ph and ammonia/nitrate testing kits this weekend, so
- hopefully all will continue to be well.
-
- Thanks,
-
