- I too started experiencing problems with hair algae around the end of Oct.
- I have a 20g hex. which is heavily planted. The algae appeared shortly
- after the introduction of two amazon sword plants (echinodorus amazonia?)
- which looked to be clean at the time of purchase. As a result they
- recieved a fairly cursory cleaning prior to introduction into my tank.
- I've been able to keep the algae in check using manual cleaning and weekly
- 25% water changes. The four 'Chinese Algae Eaters' (lat.?) I had seemed
- not to be interested in eating the stuff, sticking instead to grazing on
- tank surfaces. The problem hasn't been eliminated but it is manageable at
- this point.
