- Sorry, to keep harping, folks, but I spent a VERY fruitless weekend, hunting
- through hundreds of dealers' stock, looking for this stuff. I have pushed my
- "Gotta Have It" date back to late January - birthday present instead of
- Christmas present.
-
- The line of Carlton I am seeking is white china, smooth, round, and unmarked.
- The cups, egg cups, creamer, and tea pot stand on two little (human) legs
- clad in variously painted socks and shoes (Mary Janes). The sugar bowl sit
- on the bottom of an inverted water glass (which makes it the top) with its
- little legs crossed. They are stamped Carlton Ware on the bottom of one of
- the feet (though maybe not on the egg cups; they are too small), sometimes
- with a date (1973), and England. My friend's prize piece is a large tea cup
- celebrating Elizabeth II's 25 year jubilee. It is kneeling, with the royal
- crest emblazoned on its "belly."
-
- They are very whimsical, these little things, and are unmistakable when you
- see them. Bloomingdales ran a knock-off a few years ago, but the quality of
- the legs and painting was inferior to the original.
-
- If you see or hear of any, let me know. I get the idea it isn't very
- expensive, but just hard to find because it goes fast. I'd buy any anyone
- found (for a reasonable price), and arrange for shipping. The thing I REALLY
- want to find is a salt-and-pepper set. Extra teacups would also be swell, or
- a matching 25th year cup, or any other piece not mentioned above.
-
- Thanks for the help, and sorry to be so repetitive. On my board, you see, my
- earlier ads have been editted away. If they are still up, the moderator or
- person in charge can delete them. I would, but I assume they are gone.
-
- Thanks!
