  22. Following the successful Workshops on Distributed Algorithms
  23. in Ottawa (1985), Amsterdam (1987), Nice (1989), Bari (1990),
  24. Delphi (1991) and Haifa (1992), the Seventh Int. Workshop on
  25. Distributed Algorithms will be held in Switzerland in 1993.
  26.  
  27.    The workshop covers the entire area of distributed algorithms.
  28. It provides a forum for the presentation of new research results
  29. and the identification of future research directions in this area.
  30. The workshop will be held in Zinal (Valais), a village located in
  31. the Swiss Alps (alt. 1600 m / 5300 ft) at approximately 180 km
  32. from Geneva Airport (easily reached by train+bus).

  34.    Papers are solicited describing original results in all areas
  35. of distributed algorithms and their applications, including, but
  36. not restricted to:
  37.  
  38.   - Distributed algorithms for control and communication
  39.   - Fault-tolerant distributed algorithms
  40.   - Network protocols
  41.   - Algorithms for managing replicated data
  42.   - Protocols for real-time distributed systems
  43.   - Issues in asynchrony, synchrony and real-time
  44.   - Mechanisms for security in distributed systems
  45.   - Techniques for the design and analysis of distributed systems
  46.   - Distributed database techniques
  47.   - Distributed combinatorial and optimization algorithms
  48.   - Distributed graph algorithms
  49.  
  50.    Intended contributors are invited to submit 13 copies of an
  51. extended abstract or full paper to either of the Program Committee
  52. co-chairmen. Submissions must not exceed 15 pages with roughly 35
  53. lines/page. Submissions not conforming with these guidelines may
  54. not be considered. Please include a 150 word abstract, 5 keywords,
  55. and address, e-mail address, fax/telephone number of the contact
  56. author.

  58.    Proceedings will be published in the series Lectures Notes in
  59. Computer Science of Springer-Verlag. There is a limit of 15 pages
  60. for a paper in the proceedings.
