  22. OUTLINE
  23. The first international  conference on telemedicine will be held in
  24. Tromsoe. Since 1989, the University Hospital in Tromsoe and the Norwegian
  25. Telecom Research have cooperated on the development of telemedicine
  26. systems.
  27.  
  28. The organisers would like to bring together doctors and other medical staff
  29. in order to exchange knowledge and experience of the use of telemedicine
  30. systems in diagnostics, the treatment of patients and advice to medical
  31. staff within the different medical disciplines.
  32.  
  33. It is also their hope that this conference will lead to the establishment
  34. of international fora to promote the medical possibilities which derive
  35. from developments in the field of telemedicine.

  37. The professional program will include the following topics: Tele-radiology,
  38. -endoscopy, -pathology, -psychiatry, -primary care, -education,
  39. -dermatology, -cardiology, -pediatry, and -intensive care.
  40.  
  41. The conference will include lectures, demonstrations, plenary debates and
  42. tutorials. Emphasis will be made on encouraging good contacts between
  43. participants at the conference.

  46. February 10, 1993 - Final date for registration of participants and
  47. submission of papers.

  49. February 10, 1993 - Notification of acceptance of papers.

  51. May 20, 1993 - Opening of the conference
