  43. the Application Visualization System (AVS), the industry-leading
  44. multi-platform interactive scientific visualization package
  45. originally developed by Stardent Computer.  "Scientific Visualization" means
  46. converting numeric data (medical imaging, seismic, fluid dynamics, etc.) into
  47. 2D and 3D colored analog picture representations that give researchers greater
  48. insight into the patterns present in their data.  The company is small (<40
  49. people), well-capitalized, sales are growing rapidly, and we are already
