  19.     * Nepalese opposition presses for PM's resignation

  21.     Four Nepalse opposition parties - Nepal Communist Party (UML), Nepal
  22.     Labour-peasnt Party, Samyukta Janmorcha Nepal and Communist Party of
  23.     Nepal (Masal) will jointly take action from Dec 26 to press for the
  24.     resignation of prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala. In a statement
  25.     read out at a joint press conference in Kathmandu today, they said that
  26.     the prime minister had given false statement on the Tanakpur project to
  27.     the parliament and people. Steps should be taken to safegaurd the interest
  28.     of Nepal and resolving the Tanakpur issue through national consensus,
  29.     they said. The four parties also planned to hold mass meetings as part
  30.     of their campaign to oust the prime minister.
