- Duties: Provide hardware, software, and network support for four offices in
- the department, spread over 110 miles. This position requires
- travelling approximately 1000 miles per month. Hardware includes
- '486, Mac, and NeXT machines running MS-DOS, UNIX, Mac/OS, and
- Windows. Software includes approximately 70 of the most popular
- applications for those platforms, including WordPerfect, Lotus,
- Microsoft Word, AutoCAD, and Freehand. The current network
- consists of 30 Macs on AppleTalk, and I have developed plans to add
- a twisted-pair ethernet to the building within 6 months, as well as
- wide-area network access through the Oregon State System of Higher
- Education by the end of the year.

- Duties: Act as an evangelist for NeXT hardware and software products
- wherever appropriate. Originally responsible for the University of
- Oregon main campus, later transferred to the University of Oregon
- Portland Center and Portland State University. Significant
- technical knowledge of UNIX and NeXT products required.
- Understanding of TCP/IP and other international protocols a plus.
