- Subject: DSP Application -- Ph.D. in EE (Atlanta Area)
- Lines: 183
-
-
- Dear Prospective Employer in Atlanta area:
-
- I am seeking an R&D position in DSP applications in Atlanta area.
- I expect to receive a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the
- Georgia Institute of Technology in March, 1993. However, I think I can be
- available for work from January, 1993, since I plan to defend my thesis
- in early January, 1993.
-
- My major area is Digital Signal Processing. Thus, I have taken all courses
- available related to DSP including multi-dimensional signal processing and
- spatial array processing. My original area of research was digital speech
- coding, but after a year I returned to my primary interest area of VLSI
- signal processing. I am currently employed as a graduate research
- assistant at Georgia Tech under the direction of my advisor, Dr. Thomas
- P. Barnwell, III. While primarily involved with research in VLSI
- implementation of recursive digital filters based on optimal synchronous
- multiprocessor systems, I am interested in all kinds of implementations
- of digital signal processing algorithms and algorithm development for
- implementation. Most of my research has been with Fortran 77, Unix C and the
- LAGER system (silicon compiler), but I have used Mathematica, and
- to a lesser extent, Matlab.
-
- Before coming to Georgia Tech to pursue a Ph.D., I was employed as a
- research engineer at PISCO System, Seoul, Korea. At PISCO System, I was
- involved with the design of speech synthesis system using general-purpose
- microprocessors. While I was pursuing my M.S. degree in Seoul National
- University, Seoul, Korea, my area of specialization was Communication
- Systems including FM detector design. As my background and education are
- sufficiently broad, I am fairly flexible.
-
- Enclosed is my resume. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to
- schedule an interview, or to obtain additional information. I look
- forward to hearing from you.
-
- Sincerely yours,
-
- Hyeong-Kyo Kim
