  17.     I am graduating from Oakland University, Rochester, MI with a Masters
  18. degree in Computer Science and Engineering. I request that this letter can be
  19. treated as an application for the position as a Software Engineer.
  20.     I have prepared myself for this position, through academic work as
  21. well as through professional experience in India and U.S. I have a very good
  22. background in Networking in TCP/IP, DECNET and also in Macintosh AppleTalk
  23. environments. I have also worked extensively on communication software and

  62.     *       As Masters project at Oakland University, developed open close
  63.         read write modules for an NFS client on MSDOS using SUN RPCs
  64.         and WATTCP.
  65.     *    Developed a BOOTP client utility using Crwynr Packet Driver
  66.         APIs to query the bootp server and get the TCP information
  67.         about the network.
  68.     *    Developed a command line 'read_remote' utility using the 
  69.         ftp and telnet protocols which queries the ftp server at 
  70.         the remote site and transfers an ascii/binary file. The
  71.         program is built over BSD socket calls.
  72.     *    Developed a command line 'time_remote' utility using the 
  73.         BSD socket calls to determine the time at a remote site.
  74.         The program was written with both TCP and UDP protocols.
  75.         *       As Masters degree dissertation project in India designed and
  76.         developed Schematic  Editor with Online Verification for
  77.         designing LSI/VLSI systems.

  80.         Programming language  PASCAL using the compiler   development

  90.     *       Designed and developed a Network Faxserver  in the Novell 
  91.         Network environment which consists of a server memory resident 
  92.         in one of the nodes and client user interface in all other
  93.         nodes.
  94.         *    Designed and developed software for a PC fax card for 
  95.         transmission and reception of faxes with advanced features like
  96.         application capture, facilities for viewing and printing
  97.         received faxes etc.        
  98.         *    Designed and implemented firmware for a V22 modem. Worked on
  99.         development of intelligent (Hayes AT command set compatible)
  100.         full duplex 1200/300 BPS voice band modems conforming to CCITT
  101.         V22/V21 specifications (with advanced features like auto
  102.             answering, call progress monitoring and auto baud detection
  103.         schemes).

  105.             impemented the firmware in 8K.
