  29. University.  I will graduate and receive a bachelor of science in
  30. Science Education and a bachelor of science in Microbiology as well as
  31. a minor in Genetics in May, 1993.

  38. Microbial Genetics Laboratory, Microbiology Department, North Carolina
  39. State University, Raleigh, North Carolina  27607.  This position was
  40. created by my participation in a course, Special Problems in
  41. Microbiology, offered by the North Carolina State University
  42. microbiology department during the summer of 1992.  This particular
  43. project in which I was involved, oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis
  44. of T4 phage, has been an ongoing project directed by Dr. Eric Miller
  45. and Catherine Jozwik of the North Carolina State University
  46. microbiology department.  I assisted Mrs. Jozwik in a number of
  47. laboratory duties including: making media plates, growing over-nights
  48. of bacteria and phage, DNA template extraction and precipitation, DNA
  49. spectrophotometric analysis, annealing of oligonucleotide to our
  50. template, running agarose gel electrophoresis on samples, and
  51. electroporation using selected DNA samples.
