- The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Telecommunications and
- Information Administration (NTIA), Institute for Telecommunication
- Sciences (ITS), Boulder, Colorado, is seeking a Computer Engineer
- to act as System Administrator for a Local Area Network (LAN) having
- more than one hundred nodes. This network supports the daily administrative
- and research activities of ITS, which is a Federal laboratory responsible
- for performing telecommunications research in support of NTIA.

- The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day
- administration and maintenance of a network of UNIX workstations and personal
- computers. Administration and maintenance tasks include, for example,
- scheduling and performance of disk backups, installation of new computers
- on the LAN, development of special software in support of administration
- efforts (in C, FORTRAN, and UNIX shell programming languages), repair and
- maintenance of LAN components and computer systems, user training, and
- response to user requests for assistance.

- To qualify for this position you should have extensive recent experience as a
- System Administrator. Preferably, this experience will have been gained in a
- LAN environment similar to that found at ITS.

- The position is full-time permanent and is located in Boulder, Colorado.
- Annual salary may be $37,828 - $47,557 (GS-11).
