  17.      CIRRUS LOGIC, Inc. of Fremont California, has an immediate Opening for
  18.      a  Senior  Level  Unix System Administrator. CIRRUS LOGIC is a leading
  19.      manufacturer of custom semi-conductor devices in the  Data  Communica-
  20.      tions,  Disk Drive, VGA/XGA and mixed signal fields.  Our FY92 revenue
  21.      of $170+ million exceeded our FY91 revenue by over $30 million. We are
  22.      a  healthy  growing  company  dedicated  to  our  philosophy  of "zero
  23.      defects". We are expanding rapidly and need a  qualified individual to
  24.      support that growth.

  26.      We  are seeking an  individual who will act as a senior  member  of  a
  27.      Unix administration team. You will have a leadership role in formulat-
  28.      ing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures;  you  will  assume
  29.      responsibility  for general administrative tasks for a  design  engin-
  30.      eering area.  This  group  includes  about  sixty  users,  each   with
  31.      a SPARC-based workstation (SPARC2, SPARC10). Day-to-day  responsibili-
  32.      ties include: (Sun) workstation set-up and repair; user account set-up
  33.      and environmental changes; backups; third-party software  installation
  34.      (FRAME,  Cadence, Mentor, etc.); coordination with third party mainte-
  35.      nance organizations;  File  Server  trouble  shooting  and  preventive
  36.      maintenance;  user help and question answering; and peripheral support
  37.      (printers, plotters, etc.).

  39.      It is our intention to fill this position ASAP.  We  do  however  have
  40.      some  strict  requirements. We require a minimum of four years experi-
  41.      ence with Unix workstations (in some capacity,  such  as  sw  develop-
  42.      ment),  with  the  past two (MOST RECENT 2!) years spent in Sun System
  43.      Administration. You need to have been a System  Admin  with  networked
  44.      Suns  for the past two years. It is essential that you live in the San 
  45.      Francisco bay area and can begin work in January. You must have a  sin-
  46.      cere  interest  in System Administration. The individual we seek truly
  47.      enjoys helping users (you must be a "people- person"). These  are  the
  48.      absolute requirements. If this describes you, read on.

  50.      We prefer a College degree, but  excellent  commercial  experience  is
  51.      sufficient.   You need not be a Unix "guru" but you should have suffi-
  52.      cient skills to solve most day-to-day problems. While it is not  abso-
  53.      lutely  essential,  past experience with some of the following commer-
  54.      cial products is appealing to us:  HP  workstations,  Auspex  Servers;
  55.      Synergy  Plotters;  Cisco  Routers;  Synopsis  software;  FRAME;  and,
  56.      Cadence design tools.
