  19. POSITION: Hardware Sustaining Engineer
  20.  
  21. Duties/Responsibilities:  Work as a support engineer to the development
  22. engineering group to transition product from the develpment phase into
  23. production and supports designs in production. Works with development
  24. engineering to understand product design, ensure manufacturability, and
  25. resolve design problems for systems in production.  Works with
  26. manufacturing to resolve component, process and test problems.  Is
  27. responsible for planning and executing design modifications, for ongoing
  28. cost reductions, and locates additional component sources as required
  29. for systems in productions.  Coordinates design changes with regulatory
  30. engineering to ensure that safety, environmental, and all regulatory
  31. compliance conditions are adhered to.

  33. Technical Qualificaitons:  Minimum five years experience equipment
  34. engineering.  Working knowledge of software, hardware and firmware
  35. issues and experience at the component, board and system level.

  38. Understanding of digital design principles and debug experience
  39. required.  Testing experience highly desired.  Must have good
  40. inter-personal and communication skills.
