  21. root creative activities equivalent in nature to writing, can be or should be
  22. subjected to a contract basis.

  24. If you do this for long, you will experience burnout and even before then
  25. you will find your ability to generate software severely stifled by the
  26. imposition of a timetable.

  28. A better means to pursue programming as a living is to pursue it in the
  29. same manner as writing: try to negotiate a licensing arrangement, or try to
  30. arrange for full ownership of your product and the delivery of royalties from
  31. each recipient of the product.

  33. The first client can get the product at a discount for being a beta-tester.
  34. Alternatively, you could ask them to share in on some of the royalties in
  35. exchange for subsidizing the development period, in which case you should
  36. gear your product for general use instead of as a custom product.

  38. As such, I am doing everything in my power to try and get out of this
  39. project and starve contract cycle I am in, and to try and develop a
  40. royalty basis for my income.
