  13.     My SO has been offered a job in New Orleans that, if everything turns out
  14.     to be as good as it sounds, she'd be a fool not to take.  While she's
  15.     checking it out, I thought it'd be a good idea to see what I can find out
  16.     about the market down there for _me_.

  18.     I'm a Unix software consultant, around seven years experience altogether.
  19.     I've done work with some socket communications applications under Unix,
  20.     and also developed stuff for embedded systems (mainly executives and data
  21.     management, mostly for VMEbus systems).  I've also done some small-scale
  22.     Unix administration (networks of less than 10 machines).

  24.     I've got a lot of personal (read: unpaid) experience messing with PCDos
  25.     internals, and am currently delving into the extreeeeeemely murky world
  26.     of coding for Windows (via Borland C++/OWL).

  28.     Anyone know what kind of opportunities exist down there for someone with
  29.     my experience?
