  21. I incorporated myself in California using a Nolo Press book by Anthony Mancuso
  22. called, wouldn't you know, "How to Form Your Own California Corporation".
  23. My advise here depends on a person's ability to deal with a fair amount of
  24. detail.  Are you are the kind of person that hates to get his hands dirty, or
  25. simply can't stand to fill out forms, or refuses to do even essential
  26. paperwork?  Then do not incorporate yourself, yourself.  Use a professional,
  27. someone who will do the job correctly.

  29. If you're somewhat interested in the incorporation process, buy a good book on
  30. how to incorporate in *your* state.  Read it.  Then, *maybe* go with an outfit
  31. like The Company Corporation.  They'll probably do the job right, but only for
  32. a certain generic types of companies.  Some details that you will probably
  33. want in your corporate bylaws won't be there, although they can be amended
  34. later.

  36. Third, do it all yourself.  I knew nothing of incorporating, running a
  37. corporate entity, and all that stuff when I started.  Now, I feel pretty
  38. comfortable about the whole thing.  And I saved myself about $1000 in legal
  39. fees.

  41. I guess this is pretty obvious, but whatever route you take, get informed.
  42. If you do go to a lawyer, it may cut down on the time and thus the fees.
