  13. The term allopathy was coined by Dr. Hahnemann, who named his own
  14. system of medicine homeopathy. Homeopathy means that the disease is
  15. cured by a medicine causing similar symptoms to the disease (Homeo =
  16. same). Allopathy is a system of medicine where the disease is cured by
  17. a medicine bearing some other relation to the disease (Allo = other).
  18. Some other "pathys" are osteopathy (osteo = bone) and naturopathy
  19. (nature).
