  26. There is a very thorough and specific process called a "proving" that is
  27. used to determine what symptoms indicate a homeopathic remedy.  I think
  28. that a weak immune system is not so much a symptom as are the
  29. combination of diseases that affect AIDS sufferers.  They don't get
  30. just any disease.  The specific diseases they do get indicates a
  31. specific weakness in their healing ability, so treatment based on
  32. the symptoms of these diseases would be called for for homeopathy.

  34. Homeopathy does rely on the persons healing mechanism, so if it has
  35. been completely destroyed, homeopathy is not likely to help.  By the
  36. way, I avoid the term "immune system" because it indicates only
  37. one part of the human healing capability.  The parts of this
  38. capability that are in the mental and emotional sphere are ignored
  39. by allopathy, and I don't want to reinforce that.

  41. Both homeopaths and acupucturists have worked with AIDS and HIV+ patients.
  42. A local acupuncturist has written a book about prevention of AIDS in
  43. HIV+ people.  My homeopath has treated an AIDS patient.  He said the
  44. treatment was going well but the patient was not cured (yet?).
