  18.                       Learn about being Deaf and Gay

  20. "Deaf,Gay and Lesbian Conference," a weeklong series of activities
  21. sponsored by the Deaprtment of Human Development, Department of
  22. Residence Life and the Liberal Arts Support Department at the
  23. National Technical Institute for the Deaf, one of eight colleges at
  24. the Rochester Institute of Technology will be held January 11-16,
  25. 1993.

  27. All presentations will be accessible to deaf and hearing audiences.

  29. Philip Rubin, director of the Deaf Gay and Lesbian Center in San
  30. Francisco and Mr. Deaf International Leather, will be a featured
  31. presentor.

  33. Rubin will present, "Deaf and Gay Cultures...Supported or
  34. Oppressed?" from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday January 11 in RIT's College of
  35. Liberal Arts Building 6 Room A205, and again from 7 to 9 p.m. on
  36. Tuesday January 12, in the Robert F. Panara Theatre in the Lyndon
  37. Baines Johnson building at NTID.

  39. "Gay and Lesbian Cultures: Personal Stories" a panel discussion,
  40. will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday January 12 in the
  41. Panara Theatre at NTID.
  42.  
  43. "Why...Gay?" an NTID Deaf Culture Speaker Series presentation, will
  44. be held from 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday January 13 in the Mark
  45. Ellingson Hall dormitory first-floor lounge.

  47. "Coming Out: Gay and Lesbian Empowerment" will be presented from 9
  48. to 11 a.m.  on Thursday January 14 in the Skalny Room of RIT's
  49. Kilian J. and Caroline F.  Schmitt Interfaith Center.  Later the
  50. same day in the same room, Philip Rubin will present, "Deaf Gay and
  51. Lesbians: Discrimination, Empowerment, and Political Action" from
  52. noon to 2:00 p.m..

  54. Rubin will also present "Sensitivity in the Workplace" from 2 to 4
  55. p.m. on Friday January 15 in the Lyndon Baines Johnson Building
  56. room 3635.
